Expeditions by Candela practices a sustainable approach to the resort experience.

 

Imagine, a resort that embraces, rather than scars, the setting and culture of its location. Expeditions by Candela resorts are temporary structures that can be completely removed and recycled at the end of their life cycle. Water and electricity usage will be minimized and in most locations be provided from renewable resources, such as solar, or mini-wind/water turbines. Waste water will be treated and the resort will use bio-friendly products.

Sustaining the local culture and community is a key element to the operation of the resort. Staff are hired and trained locally. Local farmer’s will be encouraged to use organic agricultural practices for the protein and produce that they supply the resort. The resort will serve primarily locally raised and grown foods that are based on season availability.

 

The resorts are also seen as an enhancement to the community, not just by providing employment and skill training but by being actively involved in community efforts. Guests will be invited to participate in community projects so that they will also feel more closely connected to the local culture.
